11 Easy Full Moon Rituals to Release and Manifest

Give your manifestations a cosmic boost by cultivating the energy of these full moon rituals. This period of the 29 day lunar cycle is an excellent time to work on your goals, dreams, or creative projects that you would like to manifest into reality.

To manifest during a full moon you reflect on the intentions you set during the new moon and ask how you can release what does not serve the person you want to be and the things you want to manifest. Then you use the energy of the full moon to boost your manifesting powers with rituals that clear away any negative energy that was holding you back, making space for your desires to flourish.

The full moon acts as a cosmic switchboard to our intuition and guides us to what we need to change or cultivate to get what we want. If you choose to use the energy of the full moon with the following rituals it can have a strong influence on how quickly we are able to manifest things in our lives.

What is the Significance of the Full Moon?

Each phase of the moon has it’s own power.

The new moon is a time for new beginnings and planting seeds. At this time we set intentions for what we want to manifest into our lives. You can learn the best way to set intentions through these new moon rituals.

In the time between the new moon and full moon, the waxing phase, energy starts to build up as more of the moon is lit up each night. On the night of the full moon this energy has reached it’s peak, so you can channel that energy into manifesting what you want. As the moon moves into the waning period that energy is released so that your desires can come into fruition.

This is an excellent time to release things from your life that you no longer want or need, which you have to do to make energetic space for the things you want to attract.

The full moon illuminates things that were previously hidden, it allows you to gain clarity about yourself. It is a time to look inwards and reflect on what is no longer serving you, and what changes could help you manifest your goals.

How to Use the Full Moon for Manifestation

Revisit Your Intentions

Start by reflecting on the intentions you set during the new moon (or any other time). Do they still resonate with you, have any of them happened yet, have you taken any action steps? Is there anything holding you back?

As the moon moves into it’s waning phase, it’s a time to let go of anything that does not serve your goals. Think of the version of yourself that you want to be, what do you need to release to get there?

The full moon can help you look inside and see things more clearly, so at the start of any full moon rituals, do some reflecting. Here are some writing prompts to guide you, pick at least 2 or 3:

11 Full Moon Manifestation Rituals to Try

Every full moon is a chance to celebrate and connect with your higher self as the moon’s light shines down on us. It’s a time for meditation, reflection, and self-care. Full moon rituals can help balance emotions and release tensions during this time of the month.

These rituals can be done inside or outside depending on what works best for you, and you don’t have to do them all each full moon. You can just do the ones you like, or rotate between them each moon cycle.

There is no right or wrong way to do these rituals, so just focus on feeling good.

1. Release Your Blocks Ritual

A great letting go ritual to do every full moon is to write down all the things that are holding you back, and then to release them.

Take a few minutes to write down all of the things that you want to leave behind onto a piece of paper. Write down all the negative thoughts, limiting beliefs, toxic relationships, pain, fears, heartache, bad habits, and disappointments you’ve experienced recently. Get it all out!

Then say the following out loud to yourself:

“I choose to release every limiting thought, belief, habit, fear, and relationship that is no longer serving me. It is safe for me to leave these things in the past and move forward with absolute self-love, trust, and excitement for what the future holds. I choose to free myself so that I can create something new and beautiful. And so it is.”

Then you can tear the paper into pieces and throw it away.

2. Full Moon Bath Ritual

A special full moon bath or shower ritual is a great way to recharge and soak up that energy. You can use any bath products you like and maybe even fresh flower petals. Etsy has some great full moon bath salts. Light some candles, put on some nice music, and just relax.

You can even do a meditation while you’re in the bath.

Before you get out close your eyes for a minute and imagine that everything you want to release leaves your body and goes into the water, and is taken away down the drain.

Afterwards put on whatever skincare products you like and wear anything that makes you feel good.

3. Create Moon Water

Moon water is water that’s been charged by the energy of the full moon.

Put tap or filtered water in a jar with a lid and leave it in front of a window or outside where it will have moonlight shining on it as long as possible.

Then you can use it for several things:

  • Drink it for an energetic boost.
  • Add it to a ritual bath (it’s great to save for a new moon bath).
  • Water your plants.
  • Create a room spray and add some essential oils.
  • Clean your alter with it.
  • Cleanse your crystals (some crystals should not get wet, do research first).

4. Meditate

Meditation is always a great ritual to practice during the full moon. If possible sit or lay directly in moonlight (getting it through a window is fine), but if you don’t have access to a window or it’s overcast don’t worry. You can still benefit from meditating during this time and visualizing that the moonlight is washing over you.

During your meditation you can repeat mantras such as:

  • I release all that does not serve me now.
  • I allow this moonlight to recharge my body and mind.
  • I invite the energy of the full moon to aid in the manifestation of my desires.

Or try my higher self meditation.

5. Do a Full Moon Tarot Spread

Doing a tarot or oracle pull is a fun ritual to do during the full moon. You can ask for guidance on what to release or how you can best direct the lunar energy.

The Moonology Oracle Deck is a good one to use at this time, but any deck will do.

A simple three card spread is all you need, though of course you can do more or less if you like. Ask the following questions as you pull each card:

  1. What do I need to release to manifest my desires?
  2. What skill or quality do I need to cultivate to help me make the most of this energy?
  3. What wisdom is being illuminated during this time?

Take some time to contemplate and journal on your answers. Ask yourself how you can integrate the messages you received.

6. Charge Your Crystals

Moonlight will cleanse and charge your crystals. You can set all your crystals out in front of a window overnight just to give them some new energy, or pick a few that you want to anchor an intention to.

See the best crystals on Etsy.

If you want to charge your crystal with a specific intention, hold the crystal in your hand, close your eyes, and set the intention that when you see or hold this crystal it will help you with whatever you need. Then leave it in the moonlight overnight.

You can have the intention to release a belief or pattern, or you can intend to cultivate a new belief or solve a particular issue.

7. Cord Cutting Ritual

Cutting cords is a ritual where you cut energetic ties to someone or something that isn’t serving you anymore. This practice doesn’t hurt anyone, it just disconnects you from anyone that’s been draining your energy.

This can be a person like your toxic ex, or it can be an old fear that has been holding you back.

  1. In this ritual you close yours eyes, visualize the person or thing you are releasing.
  2. Imagine a cord or rope of energy connecting you to this thing.
  3. Say in your mind, “I’m am ready to let go of this energy. Thank you for the lesson I have learned. I release you now.” If you need to say it a few times then do so.
  4. Then imagine the cord being cut. You can visualize scissors, a sword, a bolt of lightning, even a light saber severing this connection. Whatever feels most impactful to you.
  5. When the cord is cut pull the root out of your chest and let it fall away. When you’re ready, open your eyes.

8. Gratitude

A beautiful way to magnify the energy of the full moon is by writing a gratitude list. Gratitude raises your vibration and makes the law of attraction work even faster for you, so when you include it with your full moon ritual it’s even more powerful!

You can set a timer for 5 minutes and go on what Abraham Hicks likes to call a gratitude rampage, or just write as many things are you can fit on a peace of paper.

Finish by writing something like:

“Universe, thank you for sharing these blessings with me. I invite even greater miracles into my life such as (your current desires).”

9. Make a Full Moon Wish

Pretend the moon is your fairy godmother, and you’re writing her a letter with all your hopes and wishes.

Write down your desires, use phrases like:

  • I am calling in …
  • I invite in …
  • I know I am worthy of …
  • Thank you for bring me …

When you’re done, stand in the moonlight and read the letter out loud to the moon.

Then close your eyes and visualize everything happening for you, feel the excitement and joy.

Finally release the desire and put the letter away. Trust that what you want is meant for you. In manifestation it’s always important to release attachment to your desire.

10. Clean Your Home

Don’t underestimate the power of a tidy space. Sometimes the thing that is blocking our manifestation is our clutter.

You might have heard the phrase, “organized home, organized mind.” When your surroundings are tidy and peaceful, your mind is more peaceful too, which means your vibration is higher.

Cleaning on a full moon doesn’t just clear physical clutter, it clears energetic clutter too. Remember that the full moon is all about illuminating what needs to be released, and sometimes it’s not just the mental junk that holds us back, it’s the physical junk too.

You don’t have to do every area of your home, just pick one space where the energy feels sluggish or stagnant.

11. Move Your Body

For our final full moon ritual, try moving your body in whatever way feels good to you. You can take a walk in the moonlight (provided the weather is nice and it’s safe), do yoga, dance, or anything else that you enjoy.

You don’t have to do these things outside, that’s just a bonus option.

Frequently Asked Questions About Full Moon Rituals

Can you do a full moon ritual the next day?

Absolutely, both the night and day of a full moon are powerful. If you can’t do your rituals that night you can do them the next day. Sometimes the moon will still be up early in the morning, so you can integrate these rituals into your morning routine.

How long does the full moon energy last?

Lunar energy is strongest the three days before and after a full moon, but the full moon energy isn’t totally gone after that, in fact it slowly releases over the two week waning period of the lunar cycle. It’s like a long exhale after a really deep breath.

When will my manifestation happen?

While using the energy of the moon and these rituals can give your manifestation a boost, depending on what it is you desire the process can still take some time. Make sure you’re using the 3 step manifestation process and trusting in the universe to deliver for you.
