Mirror work is a practice that involves looking at yourself in the mirror and repeating affirmations aimed at changing the way you feel and think about yourself.
The most common purpose of mirror work is to help you love and accept yourself just as you are. By looking at yourself in the mirror and saying kind words to yourself, you are training your brain to believe those things about yourself.
But, mirror work can be used for more than self-love or confidence. You can use it to manifest your dreams.
How the Law of Attraction Works With the Mirror Technique
The Mirror Technique is one of the strongest manifestation methods because it changes your self-concept and beliefs more quickly than just saying affirmations alone.
Changing a belief requires telling yourself a new story over and over again to rewire your brain, that’s why affirmations—positive statements about your desire—are so important. Affirmations are a way to shorten a story so that you can easily repeat it and drill it into your mind.
When you say an affirmation into the mirror your brain adopts it as a belief more quickly. You are making an association between your affirmation and the way you see yourself physically.
It doesn’t matter how hard manifesting something seems, as long as you are persistently telling yourself a new story about how getting that thing is so easy for you then it will happen.
The more you do it the quicker you will train your brain to automatically think in a way that supports your manifestation. Then the Law of Attraction kicks in and manifests your desire because your most frequent thoughts support it.
How to Use the Mirror Technique to Manifest Anything
Choose 1-3 affirmations about the thing you want to manifest that imply it’s already yours, it’s on its way, it’s inevitable, you get to have it, etc. Your affirmations should feel exciting and empowering, but you don’t have to believe them right away. Belief takes time, and often it comes after we see signs our manifestation is coming.
Your mirror affirmations might look like:
- Every time I look in the mirror I feel more confident.
- I am magnetic to wealth.
- My crush loves spending time with me.

How often should I use the mirror technique?
You can use the mirror technique every day if you want to, or whenever you want something you feel like you have resistance to manifesting. It’s best to use this technique for at least seven days, and when you start seeing progress keep going until you feel like your manifestation is really sticking.
What is the best time to use the mirror technique?
You can do mirror manifestation anytime you feel you need it, but generally first thing in the morning or just before bed are good times. It helps to feel relaxed while you’re doing it so your mind is more suggestible.
If you’re feeling upset or agitated it may help to start with “I’m beginning to relax now, I’m feeling so calm” and take deep breaths. When you feel better use your other affirmations.
Can I whisper my affirmations?
If there are other people around that might think it’s weird if you talk to yourself, you can absolutely whisper your affirmations, or even say them in your head. It’s easier to get distracted when you’re only saying affirmations mentally, so just make sure you’re focusing until the time is up.
